Job Purpose
The Medical Scientific liaison (MSL) exists to provide non-promotional, medical support that helps to ensure the safe and effective use of GSK’s medicines, through effective scientific interactions with external experts, to provide support to clinical development colleagues in site selection and with investigators conducting 65K clinical trials, and to provide scientific support for 68K internal stakeholders.

Role Profile

• The MSL is a 10% field-based scientific expert on assigned therapy area, disease area. clinical practice and competitor landscape. MSL with his or her expertise and external interactions, wdl develop insights which will assist in the development and execution of innovative Medical Affairs strategies and plans that clearty support 68K development of medicines of value for patients and customers
• The language and activities of MSLs must at all times reflect the medical nature of their role, be fair, balanced, non-promotional, scientific and evidence-based. MSL must ensure lull compliance with 68K Code, SOPs and local laws & regulations for all country medical and promotional activities, in line with the principles of Scientific Engagement
• Providing medical inputs into development and execution of medical affairs brand plans for key products
• Developing a collaborative relationship with Key External Experts and leverage their expertise to drive educational initiatives or other healthcare initiatives
• Providing prompt and substantiated medical information responses to non-product related medical queries
• Imparting of product and disease area training to field force, when required, using approved training materials, to ensure that they have basic and up to date product and disease understanding
• Facilitating the conduct of scientific meetings and deliver scientific presentations with consistent messages for key products at these meetings, as required
• Delivering scientific presentation to formulary and/or tender committees when appropriate
• Attending scientific meetings to gather information on recent data being presented on products and disease states of interest to GSK.
• The MSL Role operates under the direction and support of the Country Medical Director

Personal Profile

• A Medical Doctor, with MBBS preferably with SIMC registration and 2 years working experience
• High level of integrity and ethical practices
• Ability to think strategically
• Exemplary Communication skills & Presentation skils
• Understanding of the highly regulated pharmaceuticals environment
• Ability to initiate and maintain relationships with the medical community.
