The company was incorporated as a private limited liability company in 2006.

The very first Technical Proposal of Ocyana which was for Ministry of Provincial Council & Local Government in February 2008 scored the highest technical score and ranked No. 1 competing with the leading local firms who were in the consultancy trade in Sri Lanka over decades.

Ocyana has successfully managed the consultancy projects over the years to the total satisfaction of its wide range of clients in Sri Lanka and abroad. Over the years it has developed strong in-house capabilities - both project management tools and well trained staff to coordinate and monitor the work of project teams to meet the desired objectives in terms of expected outputs, time schedules and quality while ascertaining cost effectiveness.

Ocyana has a history of active involvement in the projects of feasibility studies, investigations, detailed design, tender and contract management, construction supervision, quality assurance, operation and maintenance, training and project management.

Ocyana is currently delivering services for opportunities in the transport, water and power sectors in the Indian Ocean region. The geographical spreads of Ocyana in the Indian Ocean region are Sri Lanka and Maldive. Ocyana has been involved in consultancy assignments in Water, Environment, Highway & Transport, Social & Urban Development and Buildings sectors throughout the region.
